Keymark Corporation of New York, an aluminum extrusion manufacturing plant, is actively interviewing applicants for Entry Level Quality Control Inspectors – Day Shift positions for the extrusion press manufacturing team. This position requires high attunement to production quality assurance and plant safety. This position will offer you training and the opportunity to be eligible to quickly qualify for advancement into the QC II (pay range $18-$21) and QC III ($20-$23) positions.
In this role, you will be inspecting the metal produced by the four extrusion presses to ensure that the extrusions are in tolerance to the specified dimensions as well as free from any surface defects. Any deviations from the specified dimensions and/or surface defects will be cause to red tag the metal for further investigation/approval.
Pay & Benefits:
The Quality Control Inspector role is offered hourly compensation ranging in annual earnings from $33,280 – $39,520, depending on your knowledge, experience level, and scheduling.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Inspect samples from the Extrusion Foreman to verify that the extrusion is in tolerance and unbroken
- Inspect end cuts from saw to verify the correct end scrap is removed
- Inspect metal on cooling table to ensure gaps, flatness, and angularity are in tolerance to the specified dimensions as well as free of surface defects
- Record inspection findings in EPICS with special attention to customer complaints
- Inspect metal on racks to look for bad ends
- Inspection samples that are found to be out of tolerance are sent to the Die Shop and the rack containing the metal is red-tagged
- Inspection samples in tolerance are stored in the Quality Control Department office
Other Responsibilities:
- Empty storage shelves by removing old samples to make room for new samples (samples are kept
- for 6 months)
- Die shop returns are rotated: scrap old returns and store newly received returns
- Assist packing line with any problems and/or questions
Skills and Aptitude:
- Basic computer use knowledge
- Ability to use precision measurement tools including:
- Calipers, protractor, square, feeler gauge, etc.
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Problem Solving for Continuous process improvement projects
- Ability to suggest fixes to how specific dies are run to correct dimension or finish problems
Working Conditions:
All inspections done at or around the extrusion presses will be in a hot and loud environment. Proper hearing and eye protection is required while working on the factory floor. As is customary in an extrusion and manufacturing facility, the employee must be aware of the automatic machines, overhead cranes, and mobile equipment. Ambient temperatures will vary but can be high during periods of the day and seasons of the year.
