Historic Site Manager Wade Wells will deliver a presentation focusing on changing borders, trade, military and political circumstances throughout the 1760?s and early 1770?s which led to violent unrest on the western frontier. His discussion will also focus on the death of Sir William during this council and the immediate effect on local politics and the management of the British Northern Department of Indian Affairs. Join living history interpreters at Johnson Hall State Historic Site for this unique commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the wake and funeral of Sir William Johnson. The program will begin at 10:00 am with a wreath laying at the grave of Sir William in Sir William Johnson Park on Main Street in Johnstown. Returning to Johnson Hall State Historic Site at 11:00 am., visitors may interact with interpreters and see Johnson Hall in state of mourning typical for the time period. Wade Wells will deliver a short presentation of the events that took place during Sir Williams funeral, and Father Thomas Pettigrew will deliver a short sermon at noon as was done on July 13, 1774. 27th Vintage Cafe Classic Car Show featuring hundreds of classic cars with a classic car parade. Registration fee of $5.00 donated to the Johnstown Historical Society. Trophies awarded in five categories outside Cafe' at 8:00 P.M., the night of the show. Music by the Vintage Brothers. Vintage Cafe' opens at 4:30, serving dinner with barbecue outside. Rain date Friday, June 14th, again from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. All those interested in parade, lineup starts at 5:00 P.M. at Mulligan & Higgins. Parade starts at 6:00 P.M. Parade route from Lexington parking lot heading south on Perry Street, right on Montgomery Street, right on Market Street. Only the first 55 cars will be allowed in parade, they only will be allowed to park on the first block of Main Street.
