Student Technician Educational Program- Internship

The Intern works under direct observation and close guidance of an experienced Service Technician (mentor) in either the RV or Marine Service department.  They will learn how to conduct Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) and core maintenance and repair services on company and customer RVs, vehicles, or Marine units, with a focus on efficiency, safety, and cleanliness.

As Interns progress through the learning process, they have the opportunity to pursue industry and manufacturer certification as part of their internship program involvement.

Pay: $16/hour


Job Duties:

  • Follow trainer’s instruction for personal, teammate, vehicle, and work environment safety
  • Learn how to test and diagnose mechanical issues on a variety of RV or Marine motorized and towable units
  • Working with a trainer, make repairs using diagnostic tools, and according to manufacturer’s instructions
  • Learn to read estimates, and identify, record and report description of any external damage discovered to vehicles
  • Learn the process of detailing an RV or Boat
  • Complete all required written, online and instructional training material as requested; participate in all hands-on skill assessments and communicate learning concerns to trainer
  • Perform light indoor shop maintenance and housekeeping duties (e.g., sweeping and general cleaning
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or on path to same
  • Building trades, automotive, or mechanical experience helpful

Physical and Environmental Conditions:
  • Talking and hearing, walking and sitting, using hands to grasp, pushing, pulling, climbing, crouching, kneeling, and reaching with arms/hands, are required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, and up to 20 pounds frequently, to move objects.
  • Exposure to some inside and outside adverse environmental conditions, such as fumes, dust, oils and lubricating fluids, mechanical moving parts, moving vehicles, fluctuating weather conditions, and occasional hazardous chemicals or materials.
