Maintenance Mechanic Helper/C

Century Linen & Uniform is the largest Commercial Laundry in NYS.

Century Linen is looking for Janitorial Maintenance/Machine Blowdown workers for our 125 Balzano Dr. Location in Johnstown, NY   

This role is responsible for blowing out various pieces of machinery to remove dust and lint at the end of the production day.  

Prior to the end of shift the responsibilities include sweeping, cleaning, or restrooms break room and production areas. 

The ideal candidate for this position will be an energetic self-starter.

3rd Shift - 7pm - 3:30am -M-F -Balzano 

Responsibilities include: 

• Complying with Policies and Procedures 
• Team player; works cooperatively with others to solve problems and proactively helps others when assistance is needed. 
• Empty trash in building  
• Vacuum  
• Clean, sanitize & polish restrooms and fixtures  
• Mop floors of restrooms  
• Refill all restroom dispensers to normal limits and replace toilet tissue when needed  
• Fill paper towel dispensers as needed  
• Dust furniture, windowsills, shelves, desks, picture frames, etc.  
• Sweep and damp mop all vinyl and tile flooring  
• Clean blinds as needed  
• Wax and buff tiled floors 
• Clean interior and exterior windows  
• Machine Blowdown 
• All other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED
• Ability to operate air compressor and tools 
• Experience in the following areas:
  • Standard National Safety Requirements and Program Compliance
  • Production/manufacturing equipment maintenance and repair
  • Mathematics - Basic Computation
  • Preventive Maintenance
  • OSHA
  • Lockout/Tag-out safety procedures

Must be able to:

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair process and support equipment within the facility
• Safely perform basic machining operations such as threading, drilling, tapping, and grinding
• Safely use hand and power tools throughout the facility
• Provide basic hand tools for personal use
• Safely operate scissor lifts, forklifts, and other material handling equipment
• Basic knowledge of plumbing and mechanical fabrication
• Proficient in English in both written and oral
• Basic knowledge and understanding of LOTO and OSHA safety requirements as related to industrial operations
• Quality oriented and high attention to detail
• Must be willing to work long hours and flexible schedule on an as-needed basis
• Perform other tasks as assigned by manager

Preferred Qualifications:

• Healthcare laundry services industry experience
• Experience in basic welding
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
