Join our team to support students' mental health needs in a school-based setting. You'll provide counseling, crisis intervention, and referrals to students in both general and special education, while working closely with families, school staff, and community providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students.
- Offer crisis support and referrals to school and community services.
- Collaborate with parents, staff, and behavioral health professionals.
- Assist in developing and implementing behavior intervention plans.
- Support schoolwide activities, student planning, and policy understanding.
- Maintain timely documentation and participate in staff development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or related field.
- At least 1 year of school-based or behavioral health experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and tech skills (Microsoft Office, Google, EHR).
- Knowledge of adolescent development, community resources, and ethics.
- Valid NYS driver’s license and ability to pass background checks.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
- Full-time position following the assigned district schedule.
- Expected work hours are 40 hours per week, with a 5-day work schedule during the school year (Sept-June).
- Attendance is required at quarterly agency clinical training, bi-weekly individual or group supervision, and other assigned trainings, which may occur during school breaks.
Travel:
- Minimal travel within the assigned school district and for educational development when necessary.
- Occasional travel to the Agency office in Gloversville, NY, for meetings and employee development as requested.
