Preconstruction Intern

We are seeking a motivated Preconstruction Intern to join our Preconstruction team at our main office in Johnstown, New York. This internship provides hands-on experience in estimating, management, project planning, and proposal development while working directly with experienced estimators, project managers, and engineers. This is a full-time, hourly paid position.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with reviewing and analyzing project plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Support quantity take-offs for bids and proposals.
- Help prepare bid packages, subcontractor outreach, and vendor communications.
- Contribute to project risk assessments and constructability reviews.
- Assist with scheduling, phasing plans, and preliminary logistics planning.
- Management of preconstruction documents and data
- Participate in team meetings and learn the full preconstruction process from concept to bid submission.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project); exposure to estimating or scheduling/AutoCad software is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
- Interest in construction estimating, project planning, and the preconstruction process.
