Production Supervisor (2nd Shift 12-9PM)

About the Role…

As a Production Supervisor, you would be responsible for leading operations in support of business operational goals in safety, quality, cost (waste, efficiency, defects), service and people. The successful candidate will work closely with managers, planners, engineers, and hourly maintenance/production employees in achievement of these goals.

 

This position would support 2nd shift - hours 12:00PM - 9:00PM. 

 

About the Team…

The Operations Team is comprised of diverse individuals who bring a wide breadth of knowledge and experience to ensure efficient day-to-day operations of Beech-Nut Nutrition’s LEED® certified production facility. The team implements processes and programs to optimize production capabilities, supervises production activities to ensure adherence to BNN ethics and safety procedures, develops production plans and staffing schedules, and general oversight of maintenance of the machinery and equipment. The team works collaboratively to make sure every aspect of production is running efficiently and effectively so we can continue to do what we do best – making high quality, safe, and nutritious foods for babies and toddlers!

 

About the Work Environment…

Most job functions are performed in a well-lit, environmentally controlled office environment.  Associate may be required to work in an environment that requires hairnet, beard cover, safety glasses, hearing protection and lab coat. Restrictions include wearing of jewelry, nail polish and acrylic nails. Other personal protection equipment may be required for certain tasks.

What You’ll Do…

  • Experience leading, developing and engaging a shift of manufacturing employees (40-50) in the achievement of company objectives, goals, strategies, and measurements
  • Ability to develop, implement and visually display manufacturing KPIs to track performance
  • A strong desire to work collaboratively with engineering and maintenance in order to improve production and quality of products
  • Ability to plan/direct production activities and establish production priorities in line in pursuit of effective operations cost reduction
  • Review and analysis of production, quality, and operational reports to determine cause of nonconformity and operating and/or production problems.
  • Development and execution of operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate downtime and improve product quality
  • Review and approve hourly associate weekly payroll. 
  • Collaborate with HR Business partner to resolve personnel issues, conflict resolution and documented disciplines, strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Lead and motivate team(s), coach and mentor associates to support training and development.

What You’ll Need…

  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in related field
  • Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of supervisory experience in related manufacturing environment with increased responsibility for production processing, packaging, and maintenance, or 
  • Associates degree and 4-5 years of experience in related field, or
  • Technical ability to work within highly complex and dynamic manufacturing environment
  • Practical experience with Lean principles.
