Director of Nursing (DON)

River Ridge Rehab Nursing Home, a leading skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Amsterdam, NY, is seeking an experienced and energetic Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing team. The DON will oversee all nursing operations to ensure high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, and staff development, all in line with our mission of compassionate, excellent care.

• Provide leadership and direction to the nursing staff to ensure consistent, high-quality care delivery.
• Develop, implement, and monitor nursing policies and procedures that comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Oversee staffing levels, scheduling, and performance evaluations for all nursing personnel.
• Collaborate with medical staff, department heads, and administrative leadership to ensure optimal resident outcomes.
• Maintain and monitor quality assurance and infection control programs.
• Ensure compliance with all New York State Department of Health (DOH) and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) regulations.
• Lead staff development initiatives, including orientation, training, and continuing education.
• Conduct regular audits and rounds to maintain clinical excellence and operational efficiency.
• Manage departmental budgeting and resource allocation effectively.
• Serve as a role model of professionalism, integrity, and resident-centered care.

• Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State (required).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Director of Nursing in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations and survey processes.
