Reports To: Assistant Director of NDHC

Physical Requirements: Ability to assist with the transfer of patients.

Hours of Work: Full Time, Monday – Friday 40 hrs. /week.

Pay Range: $18.80-$25.57/HR

Job Summary:

Maintain patient records, prepare examination rooms before needed, assist with exams, complete assignments such as blood drawing, and taking temperatures.

 

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma/GED required
  2. Minimum of 6 months of prior experience in medical or healthcare/Human Services setting required.
  3. Working with people with developmental disabilities preferred.
  4. Must have phlebotomy certification or must obtained within 6 months of hire.
  5. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  6. Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Assist medical providers and patients during medical appointments.
  2. Clean and restock exam room between patients.
  3. Accompany patients from waiting areas to exam rooms and back.
  4. Assure instruments and supplies required in performance of patient related services are cleaned, stored and maintained in an appropriate manner. Assure the maintenance of supplies and medications with the regard to sufficient availability and their being within expiration date information for products on hand.

  6. Schedule appointments at the Health Center and with other providers for referrals and/or consultations;
  7. Track, and provide detail to healthcare provider prior to appointments, all follow up on lab and other ordered services. Facilitate communication among all involved in the care of Health Center patients.
  8. File documents appropriately in all patient charts.
  9. Retrieve and return patient health records as needed in providing daily services.
  10. Analyze records/documents ensuring completeness and flagging deficiencies
  11. Maintain positive relationships with providers, patients, family members, coworkers and visitors.
