Lead Supervisor Production

LOCATION: Amsterdam, NY

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Assistant Director of Industrial Operations

Physical Requirements: General good health, lifting up to 50lbs, climbing, prolonged standing, bending and stooping, pushing, pulling and reaching.

Hours of Work: full time, Monday thru Friday, staggered shifts as required.

Pay Range: The pay range is $18.90 to $26.38

Job Summary:

The Lead Supervisor directly oversees the production and packaging of goods within Manufacturing/Industrial Operations. The Lead Supervisor directs and monitors the work of director laborers and collaborates with departmental management to achieve operational needs. The Lead Supervisor is directly responsible to set-up, monitoring, troubleshooting, and ensuring proper operation and production quality products.

 

Job Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma required.
  2. 3 years' experience as a team lead required.
  3. Experience in production and/or manufacturing operations preferred.
  4. Basic math skills required.
  5. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) required.
  6. Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Leads and/or operates various filling and packaging equipment safely and accurately throughout production areas including but not limited to food fill, chemical fill, and dry product fill.
  2. Supervises assembly and packaging operations of direct labor staff. Ensures safety protocols are followed and standard operating procedures are adhered to.
  3. Ensure a full understanding of product knowledge and fulfillment requirements. Maintain quality control standards.
  4. Assure that all production paperwork and record keeping is completed and submitted accurately and timely as required.
  5. Assure that all work is completed on schedule, safely and accurately in assigned areas. Assist in movement of materials/inventory including raw materials, supplies and finished goods.
  6. Assure that all safety, sanitation and quality control standard procedures are performed as required.
  7. Monitor to assure that all machines are operating efficiently and report any maintenance requirements. Monitor production to ensure maximum yield.
  8. Provide direction and guide all direct labor employees in assigned areas.
  9. Monitor and coach performance and behavior of direct labor employees.
  10. Train direct labor employees as required.
  11. Conduct routine inventory counts and ensure inventory accountability and accuracy. Limit waste and maximize production.
  12. Monitor and manage team responsibilities within the requirements of "value added labor" directed under the New York State and Ability One Preferred Source guidelines.
  13. As assigned, complete annual individual employment evaluations, identifying disabling conditions, functional work limitations and accommodations/strategies. Maintain documentation of disability and individual employment evaluations as required by the New York State and Ability One Preferred Source guidelines.
  14. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
