What does an Emotional Support Specialist do?

The Emotional Support Specialist is a vital part of the Psychology team at Lexington. They work closely with the Behavioral Intervention Specialist to model Behavior Support Plans, building positive relationships with people, and offering support during times of need.

Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma and three years' experience working with people with developmental disabilities is required.
    • Associate's degree in a Human Services field with one year of experience working with people with developmental disabilities is preferred.
  • Valid NYS Driver's License with use of own vehicle is required.
